Doctor Who has received four nominations for this year's Hugo Awards, read on for further details:
The Name of the Doctor, The Day of the Doctor and The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot have all been nominated for this year’s Hugo Awards.
All three have been nominated in the Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form category and the winners will be announced on 17th August at the 2014 Hugo Awards ceremony. The Name of the Doctor was written by Steven Moffat and directed by Saul Metzstein and The Day of the Doctor, also penned by Steven Moffat, was directed by Nick Hurran. The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot was written and directed by Peter Davison and featured a number of well-known faces from the world of Doctor Who including Steven Moffat, several former Doctors and Jenna Coleman.
Commenting on the nominations, Doctor Who’s head writer and executive producer, Steven Moffat, said, "For Doctor Who to receive four Hugo nominations in its anniversary year is completely thrilling. We are all over the moon. I’m particularly pleased about The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot as that was my acting debut. I remain available for any parts requiring a black jumper and slightly unrealistic hair."
We’re also delighted that An Adventure in Space and Time - the one-off drama written by Mark Gatiss that examined the origins of Doctor Who - also received a nomination in the Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form category. And The Girl Who Loved Doctor Who, written by Paul Cornell and illustrated by Jimmy Broxton, was nominated in the Best Graphic Story field.
The prestigious Hugo Awards, presented annually since 1955, are named after Hugo Gernsback, founder of the influential science fiction magazine, Amazing Stories. Best of luck to all this year’s nominees!
This year's Hugo Awards will take place on Sunday 17th August. In other news: the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor has been nominated in the Best of British category in this year's Freesat Free TV Awards.

The BBC have confirmed that another actor is to guest star in the next series of Doctor Who in an episode written by Mark Gatiss, read on for further details:
Ben Miller is set to guest star opposite Peter Capaldi when the new series of Doctor Who returns this autumn.
Commenting on his role, Ben Miller said: "As a committed Whovian I cannot believe my luck in joining the Twelfth Doctor for one of his inaugural adventures. My only worry is that they'll make me leave the set when I'm not filming."
Miller achieved fame as half of comedy duo Armstrong and Miller before success in dramas, including Primeval and more recently, as DI Richard Poole, the central character in the first two series of the BBC’s Death in Paradise.
Miller’s partner in comedy, Alexander Armstrong, appeared in Doctor Who’s 2011 Christmas Special, playing Reg Arwell, but it’s Miller’s first time on the show and he’ll be starring in an episode written by Mark Gatiss.
Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer, added: "Mark Gatiss has written us a storming villain for his new episode, and with Capaldi in the Tardis, we knew we needed somebody special to send everybody behind the sofa. And quite frankly, it's about time Ben Miller was in Doctor Who!"
Other familiar faces confirmed to join Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman in the new series, which will air on BBC One later this year, include Tom Riley and Keeley Hawes.
Filming for Gatiss's episode begins soon. Doctor Who will return to screens this Autumn to BBC One and BBC One HD.
