DW: The Caves of Androzani Figure Set - FP Exclusive

Character Options have revealed yet another Forbidden Planet exclusive classic Doctor Who figure set:

The Caves of Androzani Figure Set
The Fifth Doctor and Peri arrive on Androzani Minor, the source of a life-prolonging drug called spectrox. Production of the drug is controlled by Sharaz Jek, a facially deformed madman in self imposed exile, who blames Morgus, a powerful industrialist on Androzani Major, for all his misfortunes. Jek is fighting Morgus’ troops on a daily basis using his android army.

Jek’s android weapons are supplied by gun-runners employed by Morgus, who then receives payment in refined spectrox. But, Jek becomes infatuated with Peri and saves her and the Doctor from execution by Morgus’ troops only to hold them prisoner himself. They escape Jek but contract spectrox toxaemia, a fatal condition with only one antidote - milk from a giant queen bat.

In a climactic battle, Morgus, Jek and all the soldiers are killed. The Doctor now dying, carries Peri back to the TARDIS, where he gives her the antidote. She recovers, but the Doctor has to regenerate to save his own life.

The Sarah Jane Adventures: New Audios - Covers & Info

BBC Audio have revealed the cover art and synopsis for three new Sarah Jane Adventures audio CD releases:

AUDIO CD COLLECTION - on sale 3rd November - £29.99
Ten exclusive audio adventures featuring Sarah Jane and friends, read by Elisabeth Sladen, Daniel Anthony and Anjli Mohindra.

Sarah Jane Smith always finds herself on the trail of trouble. As an old friend of the Doctor, she’s used to encountering aliens, battling monsters and defeating evil. And although Sarah Jane doesn’t travel through time and space so regularly these days, she still finds plenty of danger and adventure on Earth.

The Stories included in this collection are: The Glittering Storm, The Thirteenth Stone, The Time Capsule, The Ghost House, The White Wolf, The Shadow People, Deadly Download, Wraith World, Children of Steel and Judgement Day.

In these amazing stories, Sarah Jane finds herself investigating a private health clinic, a mysterious stone circle, some lethal alien artefacts, a strange Victorian house and a bizarre hill carving. Then there’s the camping trip that sees the friends stranded in Snowdonia, the deadly computer virus, the terrifying creature from a world of nightmares, the steam-powered robot and the race of aliens who think Sarah Jane’s a dangerous lawbreaker…

Along with Luke, Clyde, Rani, Maria and Sky - not to mention supercomputer Mr Smith - Sarah Jane and her trusty sonic lipstick must prepare themselves for anything the universe can throw at them!

These stories have been specially written for audio by Justin Richards, Stephen Cole, Peter Anghelides, Gary Russell, Scott Handcock, Jason Arnopp, Cavan Scott & Mark Wright, Martin Day and Scott Gray. With additional music and sound effects, they are read by Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane), Daniel Anthony (Clyde) and Anjli Mohindra (Rani).

JUDGEMENT DAY - written by Scott Gray, read by Anjli Monhindra
Sarah Jane finds herself on trial for her life, in this exclusive audio story read by Anjli Mohindra.

‘The lie betrays life. The truth defies death.’

The Veritas are an ancient force for justice. For centuries they have pursued criminals across the universe, showing them no mercy. Now they have come to Earth, and found the worst law-breaker of all… Sarah Jane Smith.

Why are creatures made of living flame rampaging through a shopping mall? Who is the mysterious magician Clyde and Sky must overcome? And why does the entire crisis seem to revolve around Rani’s mother Gita?

Sarah Jane’s past has finally caught up with her. It’s judgement day…

CHILDREN OF STEEL - written by Martin Day, read by Danny Anthony
A steam-powered robot causes chaos for Sarah Jane and friends, in this exclusive audio story read by Daniel Anthony.

Sarah Jane is thrilled when she successfully bids for a Victorian brass head in an antiques auction. On taking the metal model home, Mr Smith informs her that it contains a research probe from the future.

Sarah Jane speculates that the probe was used as the ‘brain’ that powered the ‘Difference Golem’, a mechanical servant built by eccentric inventor Sir Joseph Montague. She suggests destroying it, to prevent such advanced technology from falling into the wrong hands, but Rani persuades her that this would be wrong, as the golem could have been sentient. So she, Rani, Sky and Clyde travel to Holcote House, the former residence of Sir Joseph, in search of its body. But they are soon to discover that meddling with artificial intelligence can have dangerous consequences…

Both audio CDs are on sale from 10th November priced £6.10 per copy.
