The BBC Media Centre have issued the synopsis for the seventh episode of the current series of Doctor Who:
THE ZYGON INVASION - by Peter Harness
The Zygons, a race of shapeshifting aliens, have been living in secret among us on Earth, unknown and unseen - until now! When Osgood is kidnapped by a rogue gang of Zygons, the Doctor, Clara and UNIT must scatter across the world in a bid to set her free. But will they reach her in time, and can they stop an uprising before it’s too late?
Doctor Who: The Zygon Invasion will broadcast on Saturday 31st October at 8:15pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.

Doctor Who: The Girl Who Died broadcasts this Saturday at 8:20pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.

Clara Oswald is one of the Doctor's most extraordinary companions. In order to help the Doctor she allowed the time winds to tear her into countless different iterations of herself living and dying all over time and space, like echoes. The Eleventh Doctor initially encountered two of the 'echo Claras' and was mystified by them.
He named her the 'Impossible Girl' and resolved to find her, eventually tracking down the 'real' Clara to modern day England. The Doctor finally discovered the truth about Clara on Trenzalore and was able to save her from the threat of the time winds. He brought her safely back to Earth where she began a job as a school teacher and she was present when he regenerated in into his twelfth incarnation. Since then they have gone on countless adventures together.

The Eighth Doctor was an effortlessly charming, romantic figure. He was unguarded about his background and equally candid about what the future held for people he came into contact with. It seems ironic that so much about this open Doctor remains a closed book...His first adventure took place in San Francisco at the turn of the Millennium with Dr Grace Holloway and Chang Lee in an epic battle with the Master.
Much later, after many adventures with many companions, the 8th Doctors fate is finally sealed during the Time War, as he attempts to rescue a pilot, Cass, whose ship was crashing into the planet Karn. When Cass realized that the Doctor was a Time Lord and her enemy, she refused his help and allowed the ship to crash.

A TV trailer advertising the next episode of Doctor Who, The Girl Who Died, is currently airing on various BBC channels in between programmes, you can watch it above. The episode will broadcast on Saturday 17th October at 8:20pm on BBC One and BBC One HD. In other news: Before the Flood received an overnight rating of 4.38 million, the final BARB ratings will be announced in ten days time.

BBC DVD have issued the cover and details for the release of the first six episodes of Series 9 of Doctor Who onto DVD and Blu-ray:
