BBC Audio have released the cover and synopsis on two new exclusive Torchwood audio stories:

DEPARTMENT X - written by James Goss, read by Kai Owen
G.R Owen is the last of Cardiff’s old department stores. Times are hard and the ancient firm has gone into administration. But who are the Administrators? What goes on behind the shutters at night? And why are customers disappearing?

Torchwood are already investigating; G.R Owen is the site of their oldest unsolved cases, and Jack is determined to solve it before the store closes forever - which is why Ianto is working undercover in gentlemen’s fashions and Gwen is in handbags. Are the new managers really aliens? What connection do they have to the mysterious G.R Owen himself? And is Jack the only one looking for the department of Curiosities, last seen in 1905?

GHOST TRAIN - written by James Goss, read by Kai Owen
It’s not easy being Rhys Williams. You’re married to the sexiest woman in Torchwood. She saves the world for a living, you move lorries round in a timely fashion. Suddenly, you’ve got a mystery of your own. Oh, it starts off being about missing fridges.

But it leads to a midnight train pulling into an abandoned platform at Cardiff Station. What is the mysterious cargo that Rhys is unloading from the train? Where’s it going? And what can be behind it? Rhys Williams is going to get to the bottom of it. All by himself, thank you very much. Soon Captain Jack is missing, his wife’s dead, and it’s up to Rhys to try and put everything right. And find those fridges…

Both audios are on sale from 3rd March at all good CD stores priced £13.25 each.

Doctor Who: Stone Dalek Figure - Single Release

Character Options have announced that the Stone Dalek figure - exclusive to one of the Toys R Us exclusive Doctor Who figure sets - is to be re-released as a single carded figure:

The Daleks were one of the races that created the legends of the Pandorica and lured the Doctor to it and trapping him inside!

When the universe was destroyed, the Daleks were erased from history, although the Daleks at Stonehenge where the Pandorica was situated were reduced to stone and dust, echoes of what might have been, caught in the eye of the time storm. When the Pandorica was moved to a museum in 2010, two stone Daleks were placed there with it and were temporarily reactivated by the restorative energies from the Pandorica when it opened.

Add this detailed 6″ scale Dalek action figure to your collection of Supreme Beings!

The figure is on sale in early February at all good toy stores priced £10.99.

Doctor Who: April 2011 Novels - Covers & Info

BBC Books have released the covers and synopsis on three new Doctor Who novels:

DEAD OF WINTER - written by James Goss
'The Dead are not alone. There is something in the mist and it talks to them.'

In Dr Bloom’s clinic at a remote spot on the Italian coast, at the end of the 18th century, nothing is ever quite what it seems. Maria is a lonely little girl with no one to play with. She writes letters to her mother from the isolated resort where she is staying. She tells of the pale English aristocrats and the mysterious Russian nobles and their attentive servants.

She tells of intrigue and secrets, and she tells of strange faceless figures that rise from the sea. She writes about the enigmatic Mrs Pond who arrives with her husband and her physician, and who will change everything. What she doesn’t tell her mother is the truth that everyone knows and no one says - that the only people who come here do so to die.

HUNTER'S MOON - written by Paul Finch
'There's no end to the horror in this place - it's like Hell, and there are devils round every corner.'

Welcome to Leisure Platform 9 - a place where gamblers and villains rub shoulders with socialites and celebrities. Don’t cheat at the games tables, and be careful who you beat. The prize for winning the wrong game is to take part in another, as Rory is about to discover - and the next game could be the death of him.

When Rory is kidnapped by the brutal crime lord Xorg Krauzzen, the Doctor and Amy must go undercover to infiltrate the deadly contest being played out in the ruins of Gorgoror. But how long before Krauzzen realises the Doctor isn’t a vicious mercenary and discovers what Amy is up to? It’s only a matter of time. And time is the one thing Rory and the other fugitives on Gorgoror don’t have.

They are the hunted in a game that can only end in death, and time for everyone is running out...

THE WAY THROUGH THE WOODS - written by Una McCormack
‘The motorway bends around the woods. So did the old road. So did the Roman road. As long as people have lived here, they've gone out of their way to avoid the woods...’

England, today. Between the housing estate and the motorway lies an ancient wood. The motorway bends to avoid it. Last week, teenager Laura Brown went missing. Tonight, Vicky Caine will miss her bus and take a shortcut through the wood. And she will disappear too. England, 1917. Between the village and the main road lies an ancient wood. The old Roman road bends to avoid it. Tonight Emily Bostock and a man called Rory Williams will go to the woods.

Investigating events in the present day and back in 1917, the Doctor and Amy are desperate to find out what’s happened to Rory. He was supposed to look after Emily - and now they’ve both vanished. Something is waiting in the woods. Something that’s been there for thousands of years. Something that is now waking up...

All three novels are on sale from 28th April at all good bookstores priced £6.99 each and per copy. In other news: Neither Matt Smith or Doctor Who didn't win the awards they were nominated for at the National Television Awards earlier this evening.

National Television Awards - Tonight

This year's National Television Awards is to broadcast live tonight from the O2 Arena in London from 7:30pm on ITV1. Doctor Who has been nominated for Best Drama, while Matt Smith and Karen Gillan are up for Best Drama Performance.
